12x12 Photo Frame

For my Mum's 60th back in July, I arranged for a Family Portrait, as it was rare that us 4 kids were in the same place at the same time!

I had brought a few of these 12x12 Photo Frames from Lincraft for only $9.95, they come in either black or white.

The base of the layout is a 12x12 piece of Taken with Teal, I have double matted the 8x10 photo on Rose Red and then onto Regal Rose. Using the Eastern Blooms Stamp Set from the Summer Mini (Page 8, $39.95), I stamped the cherry blossom image in Whisper White Ink. The pink flowers are cut out from a sheet from the Bali Breeze Designer Series Paper, some are glued directly down and others a raised using Stampin' Dimensionals. I then finished the layout with a few rub-ons from the Cherished Memories set (Page 141, $19.95).
Anthony thought the layout looked a little too girly as he pointed out there is a male in the photo!

More Samples...

Base of this card is Whisper White, I have used the Bali Breeze Designer Series Paper and matted this onto Pumpkin Pie and Taken with Teal Cardstock. I have used the new Scallop Edge punch along the bottom of the Taken with Teal card, so that the Pumpkin Pie cardstock shows along the base. Again I have stamped the flower image in Stazon Ink and coloured this in with the Aqua painter and Pumpkin Pie Ink.

This card was cased from Andrea Walford, again base of this card is Whisper White Cardstock, I have used Bali Breeze Designer Series Paper, matted this onto Certainly Celery and Taken with Teal Cardstock, I have covered the join with Purely Pomegranate Double Stitched Ribbon. Christmas Market Day

Recently I was asked to be involved in a Christmas Market Day. This was run by Tina from the Natural Beauty Retreat (who organised the Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser a few months ago) http://www.thenaturalbeautyretreat.aquawebsites.com/page/32774/default.asp

I had my display table set up with my Stampin' Up! products and then I ran 2 set classes for both Adults and Kids (2 classes for each with max of 6 in each). The day was a huge success and all who attended the classes loved the end product.

The first photo is of the cards in which the Adults made on the day-they made 4 Christmas Cards with matching envelopes (some designs were cased from different blogs, I apologise that I cannot remember which exact ones!)

The second photo is of the Kids Class-they all got to make a 9x9x9 Photo Cube, Mini Cards, Candy Cane tag, and Gift Tags.

And finally my display table on the day! (it looks messy underneath, but these were all the classes bagged and ready to be given to each guest)

Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser

On Saturday the 18th October I was asked to be involved with a Breast Cancer Awareness Morning Tea Fundraiser which was held at Dulong near Maleny here on the Sunshine Coast.
The lady who organised the whole event was Tina Rossiter who runs The Natural Beauty Retreat. The event/morning tea was held on her property, and all the other stall holders were other home based/direct selling businesses from around the local area, the morning tea was $5 per person, I think Tina ended up with about 80 guests, mostly ladies!

Tina was putting together sample bags for everyone who attended on the day, so if you wanted to add anything about your business you had the chance. I made little matchbook holders in pink, when you opened it, I put a few lollies inside and put my details!

The were fantastic raffles which were also donated by local business and all proceeds were donated to Breast Cancer Awareness.
As this was the first time I had been involved with a fundraiser, I was unsure how things worked, but I thought I would see if Stampin' Up! would donate a few products for a great cause, so I was blown away when I arrived home one afternoon to find a HUGE box on my door step, when I opened it I was amazed at how much stock they had donated. I packaged them all up, I think in the end I ended up donating about 8 raffles. The first photo above is of all the raffles donated by Stampin' Up!

The second photo is of a bouquet of flowers I had made especailly for my stall to make it pretty, and this was down by iblossom. It was stunning and quite a few people commented on it also.

It was a fantastic organised event thanks to Tina and everyone had a lovely day!

Mum's 60th Birthday Invites

Next month is my Mum's 60th. These are the invitations I made for her party.
Using Wisper White Card, Almost Amethyst Card Stock, Almost Amethyst Ink, So Swirly Jumbo Wheel, Scallop Punch and Organza Ribbon (retired from last year's catalogue), the silver "Coralie's 60th" is a sticker which I got made from a company called Peppermint Products (from Melbourne).
On the inside of the invitation, my sister Angela did the photo of mum (when she was a teenager), I printed this onto vellum and then attached with small silver Heart brads.
For her birthday cake I am doing cupcakes, so at the moment I am trying out receipes and different types of frostings, this is one I made today, the pink frosting is way too bright and flavoured with raspberry! I am going to do a lilac frosting to match the invites, with lilac candied flowers on the day.

Wild Weather in Queensland

As most of you are aware the weather here in Queensland has been pretty bad lately, we've had rain nearly everyday since Christmas Eve.

On Sunday afternoon, we went over to Coolum to check out the beach! It was blowing a gale, raining and rough.

Here are a few photos from the point at Coolum, even though the weather was crappy and the beaches are closed there were still heaps of people out walking and checking out the beach!!
